"HOT RODS & MOTORCYCLES RULE
...while others drool."

Greetings...

January, 2009:  We started 2009 with a visit from our dear friends Joel & Jan Galloway from Northport, Michigan.  Joel and I were both Doctoral Students at the University of Illinois, and we graduated together in 1972.

On January 26th, Barb and I celebrated our 46th Wedding Anniversary, which is probably a record for 2 kids from Detroit.

Street Rod:  The current modifications involve improving the front and rear suspension, including new shocks.

December, 2008:  Barb and I have both retired, and I reluctantly sold our "Beloved" 1929 Ford Hot Rod and my "Award Winning" Chopper Motorcycle to fund the acquisition of our new 4-Door Ford Street Rod, which has ample room for our friends, family, and grandchildren.

Our Model A Hot Rod (picture below) was sold to a very nice gentleman in Maryland who will finish it; and, our Custom Chopper Motorcycle (picture below) was sold to our neighbor Randy, who promises I can ride it whenever I need a "chopper" fix.

Finding the "perfect" retirement Street Rod proved to be a very difficult and time consuming task because "GOOD" 4-Door Street Rods are EXTREMELY RARE. I finally purchased our 1937 Ford 4-Door Street Rod in Florida, and drove it  2,000 miles back to Colorado with NO problems (see pictures below).

Barb and I have vivid memories of "cruising" on Woodward Avenue together in Royal Oak, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit, during the late 50's and early 60's.  And, Denver has numerous "Cruise Nights" that we plan to attend.

Please visit this site frequently, as the changes and improvements to our new Street Rod and lives are ongoing.

HELLO... I built this motorcycle to look like an old "Rigid Chopper", when in fact, it has a Rubber-Mounted Powertrain and a Harley-Davidson Twin-Cam Motor. My bike was entered in 3 Motorcycle Shows, and won First Place in all 3 shows. And, it was also awarded the highly coveted "People's Choice Award" in the 2 shows that allowed the public to vote for their favorite motorcycle. This picture was taken by Michael Lichter of EasyRider fame, and the "Best" photographer on the Planet, for a 4-Page Feature Article in the February, 2003 issue of V-Twin Magazine. And, it was also featured in Street Chopper Magazine.
Here is my beautiful wife Barb. Fortunately, she has shared my love of motorcycles and hot rods for almost 50 years.
Our beautiful Grand-Daughter Samantha is now 12 years old, and is taking this picture with the camera on her cell phone.
Friends often ask if we can see the Rocky Mountains, so we took this picture from our front porch on January 20, 2009.
Barb and I have ridden our Harley-Davidson Motorcycle through every state in the Western United States and throughout Western Canada.
The 1937 Ford is, in my humble opinion, a beautifully designed automobile. But unfortunately, the stock rear tail-lights look like an "after-thought" of the car's designers. Therefore, I couldn't wait to install new tail-lights. On the next picture, you'll see how I solved this serious problem.
And, here is the "AFTER" picture of our 37 Ford after I removed the rear bumper, welded and filled the bracket openings, and fabricated the "ultra-cool" 1959 Cadillac LED taillights "frenched" into the rear fenders. Note: temporary "rattle can" paint used until spring re-paint.
Someday... I hope our 37 Ford has flames something like this fine machine when it's completed.

John misses his 1929 Ford Model A Hot Rod, that featured a 4 1/2 inch "Chopped Top", and is now owned by his new friend Simon in Maryland.
Here is John, also known as "DR. EVO", doing a burn-out on his 103 cubic inch Harley-Davidson Drag Bike while his great friend, and Master Harley Mechanic Len Havens (red t-shirt) watches at the Sturgis Dragway during Bike Week. This Drag Bike was extremely fast, and won virtually every event and street-race. Bill Johnson, another great friend, and owner of High Country Harley-Davidson in Longmont, Colorado was the team's major sponsor.
The first snow at our new home in Brighton, Colorado.
Barb captured this dramatic sunrise on January 21, 2009.
